Abstract. Two simple techniques for the measurement of the shielding efficiency for the electric field of a symmetric enclosure are presented.y They allow measurements in the symmetry plane of the enclosure without disturbances b the cables. Measurements in near and far field regions are possible. Comparisons with simulation results are shown. Both techniques are particularly suitable for the evaluation of numerical techniques. Limits of the concept of shielding efficiency of enclosures at high frequencies are also briefly discussed.
